Friends of the Hospital
We are a group of voluntary workers who formed the “Friends of the Hospital” in 1986. Our main aim is to improve the lives of residents and assist the hard working staff. We engage in fund raising projects to raise funds for the hospital and also to provide money for the functions which we hold for the residents.
We visit each resident on their birthday with a card and a gift and also have social visitors who visit for short periods during the week. Everyone loves a chat, especially if the resident is totally bedridden or without relatives to visit them.
On the last Wednesday in every month we have a Darby and Joan morning in the Lounge at 9.30 a.m. We play Bingo for small prizes and have plenty of conversation, tea and eats.
Darby & Joan members are treated to an annual lunch. One of our main functions is to support the Hospital with catering for concerts and occasions, and we need plenty of people to bake just one cake a month. At the moment, so few do so.
The Friends exist to improve the lives of your loved ones. If you would like to assist us with any of the above projects, I would be most grateful. You can contact me through the Hospital Telephones +263 742581/742596/742598/742637/742664/742669 and 742671 – Extension 217.
